簡介

身高6尺4吋的尼遜成長於鄉下的天主教家庭，少年時期迷上演戲，經過學校話劇和業餘劇團磨練後，23歲即在享譽已久的「抒情演員劇場」登臺，1980年在都柏林演出時被相中而出飾《神劍》中的蓋文爵士。之後他陸續演了幾部佳片，但也與一些好片失之交臂。1992年初他重回闊別8年的舞臺表演，也因而獲得史蒂芬史匹柏的賞識，主演戰爭片《辛德勒的名單》的靈魂人物，終於打響國際知名度，並入圍奧斯卡最佳男主角獎。主演《星際大戰首部曲》，使他進一步贏得年輕觀眾的歡迎。
